Fortnightly Update #10
Welcome to the tenth music update of the year
Sorry for skipping the last update. I am rolling back to the music, so I'm going to kick straight into an proto-announcement!
Land of Expansion
Themes of the Old World is getting an expansion as part of my work on Imperialism Reinvigorated! Two new pieces will be joining the Themes family to represent the Anatolian, Levant and Egypt areas. Basically, the Ottoman sphere at its peak (A.K.A the Levant culture group). Like all other themes there will be a war song and a peace song, with a distinct motif identifiable between the two. For the gamers among you: these pieces will play in your EU4 games when you start interacting with the Ottomans, Mamluks and other nearby countries.
And of course, to get us started I present a full draft of Land of Expansion (War), which you can listen to below. Hopefully it will give you an idea of what I'm trialling with and what might finally come into your games. The rabbit-eared of you will perhaps pick up a few things, such as the variations of the Phyrgian Scale (yes, the same Phyrgia that used to be in Anatolia) and Middle-Eastern-like timbre used in places, or the two very intentional insertions of the Land of Wonder (Iberian) theme.
Enjoy!
