Fortnightly Update #2
Welcome to the second music update of the year
After spending the first week of this year on a nice, warm southern-hemisphere holiday I have, this week, kicked back into songwriting mode with my spare time. My main focus has been on furthering work on the Anbennar main theme, another mod for EU4, for which the current draft is sitting just shy of 4 minutes in length.
The music proving to be rather intricate, with plenty of key changes (AKA a splatter of accidentals), tempo changes and variation to the harmonies and rhythm. What this means for the players is a grand tune that encompasses all the lore of Anbennar. There are bold statements of the theme, with blasting trumpets and epic horns... is it the orcs or the humans? You can imagine the jolly dwarves, hiding in their mountains, or the mystical elves rushing past on some all-important errand. It's like a music version of an Anbennar theme park ride.

The second major piece of news is that the Songs of Scandinavia was successfully released to streaming services! It grabbed a lot more attention than I was expecting, with more than a doubling in the number of monthly listeners, 50% more followers and a new record for most streams in a day! The album also provided an indirect increase to the performance of the Themes of the Old World album, with some people choosing to continue their utopian journey once they had finished listening to the new album.
Check out the pretty graph below for some more album-specific stats!
See you in two weeks!
